Arguably the prettiest of all the Riley’s was the Kestrel 12/4 l 4 light 1 1/2 litre sedan, a streamlined design with beautiful flowing mudguards and a graceful sweeping style from windscreen to tail ( the original restored bumpers are with the car and can be easily refitted, previous owner preferred it without them!) This exceptional example has been thoroughly restored, the paintwork is excellent, the chrome ,engine compartment etc are all immaculate the interior is lovely with original leather seats, the door trims, carpet ,hood lining have all been redone to original specification,, it is great to look at and awesome to drive.. This fine example has been upgraded with Sprite specification cams, twin SU Carburetors, and extractors, has also had shell bearings and a modern electric water pump discretely fitted, the original pre selector gearbox has been upgraded with close ratios. The Kestrel 1.5 litre 4 light saloon was only made in 1934-5, around 800 were built. The Kestrel has a 1.5 litre twin camshaft 4 cylinder engine with an excellent 61bhp and a charming pre selector gearbox, has a top speed around 80mph. The 4 light body is slightly narrower and lighter than the later 6 lite model, more nimble with a performance advantage. This rare car is most collectable , has had a high quality restoration, now ready for a new owner.
