Rover Clegg Tourer 1913

Rover Clegg Tourer 1913

$0.00
This charming 1913 Rover 12hp "Clegg" Tourer has had a ground up restoration, it has taken over 35 years! This is a rare "Colonial" model with higher ground clearance, wider track and larger wheels (currently not fitted), only a few of this model were made and only in 1913, it is thought that only 3 survive (this example, one in UK and bits of another in NZ). The engine has been professionally rebuilt and runs beautifully, the gearbox, differential, brakes, suspension have all been restored, the mostly original body is all restored, the deep button trim is lovely, as is the hood. This car has a complete set of rare Rotax electric lights, and switch box, all in beautiful restored condition. Due to the owners declining health the final part of the restoration has not been to a high standard, although it can be used as is it would benefit greatly from some minor pannel work and paint. The Rover "Clegg" 12hp was made from 1911-1914, it has a 4 cylinder poppet valve 2297cc engine and a 3 speed gearbox, was known as a strong and reliable "quality" car of it's time. During the restoration this car has been discreetly fitted with a modern electric starter motor, a great asset! A spare engine, differential, chassis frame, some original pannels and the extra large beaded edge sankey wheels are included.A rare "Brass" veteran, substantially restored, in my opinion this is a very special opportunity, excellent value.
