This marvelous 1928 Buick Standard Six 28/35 Tourer has been owned by the same family since 1950! We believe originally purchased by a farming family in Salisbury, South Australia and sold by them to a member of the RAF working at the base at nearby Edinburgh, left with the family of the last owner on his transfer overseas, passed down to his nephew in 1970. From 1970-1980 ,body off restoration, repainted in original colours, beautifully retrimmed in original pattern leather etc. Lots of work done over the years, 2014-5, engine was rebored with new pistons, timing gear, big ends remetalled etc. has covered only 3-4,000 miles in the last 49 years! This car has been restored to an exacting standard, very original in specification with nickel plating not chrome (chrome was first available in 1929 with Buick) correct vacum tank, carburettor, lights and instruments and original tools, only modification fom original, it now runs on 12 volts for convenience. This car runs like a Swiss watch and drives like a new one, a credit to it’s last owner. The Buick 28/35 has a larger 6 cylinder overhead valve engine with around 60bhp, a 3 speed centre change gearbox, and good 4 wheel mechanical brakes. Although this car was restored some time ago, it presents exceptionally well , it has been restored to very original specification. A lovely vintage car now ready for a new custodian.
