This wonderful 1922 Austin 20 Tourer is a large imposing car, it has been owned by a well respected Austin enthusiast for many years and is in amazingly original condition. The Austin 20 was the first model built by Herbert Austin after the 1914/18 war, it's design was loosely based on the American Hudson Super Six (Herbert Austin bought one of these in the later war years). The Austin 20 has a large 3510cc 4 cylinder monoblock side valve engine and a 4 speed central gate change gearbox, it performs exceptionally well for a car of its vintage, cruising comfortably at 50mph. This car has all its original features including Smiths instruments, CAV lights, Zenith carburettor, vaccum tank, Watford magneto and Sankey wheels, it also has its original registration plate, tools, instruction manual, rear windscreen and luggage rack. The Austin 20 was known as an exceptionally reliable car, some having reputedly covered over a million miles! Mechanically this car is excellent,(it obviously has not covered many miles), the trim, hood and side curtains are great, the paintwork is servicable. The Austin 20 is a rare imposing quality car, this amazing example is in mostly original unrestored condition, the paintwork is a little tatty but still servicable. This is a special opportunity.
